Who controls your information

MA BARGAIN LIMITED is the data controller for personal information collected through MA Home & Order. We handle your information in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Send privacy questions or requests to support@mahomeandorder.com.

Information we use

  • Contact information: name, email address, telephone number and delivery or billing address.
  • Order information: purchased items, order reference, transaction status, return and exchange records and communications.
  • Account information, where you choose to create an account: login and account preferences.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser, device information, essential session data and security logs needed to operate and protect the shop.
  • Consent and communication preferences, where you provide them.

Payment details are submitted through secure checkout. We use transaction references and payment status to manage your order; please do not send full payment-card numbers or security codes by email.

Purposes and lawful bases

  • Contract: accepting and fulfilling orders, communicating about purchases, delivering goods and managing returns, exchanges and refunds.
  • Legal obligation: accounting, tax records and responding to lawful requests.
  • Legitimate interests: protecting the shop against fraud, maintaining security, answering enquiries and handling complaints. We assess these interests against your rights.
  • Consent: optional promotional communications or optional tracking that you choose to allow. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Information necessary to take payment and fulfil your order must be supplied for us to complete the purchase. Optional preferences are not a condition of purchase. We do not use solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.

How information is handled

We use Shopify to operate the shop. Information needed for checkout, hosting, payment, delivery, communications and professional accounting is handled by the services performing those tasks. Access is limited to the purpose and information required. We remain accountable for our use of those services and for responding to your data-protection requests. We disclose information to public authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal information.

International handling

Shopify and the services used to operate checkout or fulfil orders may process information outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, we ensure an applicable UK adequacy decision or recognised contractual safeguards are used. Contact us for details of the safeguards relevant to your information.

Retention and security

We keep order and accounting records for six years after the relevant accounting period, unless a specific legal requirement requires a different period. Enquiry records are normally kept for up to two years after resolution. We retain consent records as needed to evidence and honour your choices. Records needed for an unresolved complaint or legal claim are kept until that matter is concluded. We use access controls, secure connections and appropriate organisational measures to protect information and investigate security incidents.

Your rights

Depending on the processing and circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Direct-marketing objections are honoured. We respond to rights requests within one month; if a lawful extension is necessary for a complex request, we explain it within that first month. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity.

You can complain directly to us at support@mahomeandorder.com. You may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

See our Cookie Policy for cookies and your choices. Order-related messages are sent to administer your purchase.
